Comedian Lenny Bruce died in 1966 of a drug overdose at the age of 40. In order to better understand his short, tragic, and sometimes misunderstood life, we conducted numerous interviews with many of his close friends as well as his mother, the late Sally Marr. During the process of discovery we were not only further moved by Lenny’s courage and conviction to be his own unique self, we found ourselves captured by the spell of his mischievous charm, just the way his fans were when he was alive.
